Highlights from the Berlin 6G Conference 2026
This month, we had the pleasure to participate to meet the top innovators in the telecommunications sector at the Berlin 6G Conference 2026. As part of the 6GEMcubator, we joined forces with the xG-Incubator, launchhub42 | The ComTech Incubator and start.smart.connect. Kaiserslautern – our fellow incubators in the Start Up Connect initiative – as well as the most innovative startups in our community, including our 6GEMcubator teams NovoFlect GmbH, PANGOLIN NETWORKS and QuasiOptical.🚀
This year’s Berlin 6G Conference was officially opened by Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister at the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung , setting the tone for three days of high-level exchange and collaboration.
Throughout the conference, our joint 6G-Plattform booth created a lively hub for open live pitches and hands-on demos, sparking vibrant interactions and direct engagement in the Startup Space.🎤
The agenda featured inisghtful presentations, lively panel discussions and interactive workshops on a diverse range of telecommunications topics, such as AI integration, resilient infrastructure, and cybersecurity, with researchers, startups and industry experts. Moderated by Prof. Slawomir Stanczak, (Head of Division Communications and Networks at Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI), Prof. Haris Gačanin (Head of the Chair for Distributed Signal Processing at RWTH Aachen University) sat down with Tilo Heckmann (Senior Technology Strategy Manager bei Telefónica Germany), Frank Hofmann (Chief Expert Mobile Communication Systems at Bosch Research) and Michael Meyer (Head of the Research Department at the Ericsson Eurolab in Aachen) to discuss how we can accelerate technology transfer from 6G research to industrial impact.
The open exchange between the panelists and audience underlined that collaboration in the field is indispensable for translating scientific results into real-world solutions that can put Germany and Europe ahead of the digital transformation.🤝
The 6GEMcubator, funded by the Start Up Connect initiative of the BMBF, empowers founders, startups, and research teams to turn their telecommunications technology into a viable startup with up to €800,000 in funding, expert coaching, and access to a powerful innovation network.
